myvi make it!

last weekend trip was amazing!

The adventure began at the junction of miri-bintulu road toward off road sungai arang heading to marudi. muahhahahhahahha...i don't know what i was thinking at that time, grab my guts and just do it! denny check for assurance with a long look right in my face, i was full with spirit, excitement and doubts at the same time. go for it girl..i said to myself in my heart. so the journey started...
everything went smooth and we manage to reach marudi safe and sound. actually, when first my car hit off road, rubbles, dirts, bump, mud was all the way long, up and down the hills and slope, my mind was actually hurt thinking that it might damage the car. then when that passed, i was so relieved and after checking everything is in good condition.

But it was only half the journey, we need to return back to bintulu using the same road. it was 11am, the weather was fine, we prayed before we started the trip returning back. after crossing 2 river by ferry, the real battle started, but it was still okay until we reach 2/3 of the road, before we could pull on second thought, we drive thru a wet, muddy and sliperry road. just seconds after that, it was totally out of control. ryan was on the wheel, stepping on the brake trying hard to control it, front tyres sink into the mud. denny went out of the car, trying to push us back on the track, but little by little we are actually slipping to the side of the road and we could actually crashed againts the rocky hills beside us or hit another stucked 4WD in front of us.

The tense was getting higher, and ryan began to panic, my heart was beating so fast, in the middle of the chaos, i could not stop praying in my heart, ryan gripping the wheel and brake and gear, while denny was outside trying and pushing the car to get on track, then my prayers was heard, one guy came helping us out, his car was still at the top of the hill and he went down to survey the road. With his and Denny's help, ryan managed to get on track and drive us down the hill out of the mud. and just like that, everything was back to normal. ryan and denny went to help others who still stucked. after exchanging thanks and handshake, we were ready to continue the journey, before we leave an elder guy note "boleh tahan myvi ni..baguslah.." at this, i felt proud of the car and can't help smiling.

For me that was quite an experience, i will never forget tht. i thank God for He is always there to protect us along the way, and brought us home safely. well, no doubt i will do it again in future :)

baby blue...

the colour that attract me all the time, it look so soft and calming, i like it so much and actually make my day :)
i like to have all my thing in blue colour, especially baby blue, but in reality, most of important thing that i own was in different colour, not blue as i always wish when i was younger. for example, my car, house, curtain, bedroom...last time when i was young, i dreamed to have everything in blue, now blue doesn't represent me anymore. i'm afraid that obsession of blue colour is fading from me.
maybe as i grow old, i found more variety in life so as my colour choice, well... people change over time i guess. last night my boyfriend said something that wake me up from my little fantasy world, he said nothing will remain the same except Christ Himself. That is the different between the Creator and the things He creates.
i hope that more people realize this fact and start seeking and looking for eternal/heavenly things rather than chasing after things that will fade away as the perfume scent blown away by the wind and so as everything that we fancy most here on earth.

have a nice day & God bless!

life to value

early at 8.23am i receive a call from my boyfriend today, well that is not ordinary him. i got an instinct that something happened, then it's true when he break the news that his cousin passed away after involving in an accident. sadness surround me for a while, when he further tell me that the deceased left 2 small children behind. immediately i ask for an excuse from my boss then rush to pick him up and send him to bus terminal where he get on an express bus going back to his hometown where the funeral will take place.
after a brief goodbye, i drive back to office, on the way i was praying for his journey and the family who mourn for the lost. Deep inside my heart, there's a chilly feeling that urge me to feel worry, fear and sad. i realize then everytime when i heard or attend funerals of my relatives when they passed away, i have that same feeling. then i guess it is normal to feel that way. But now i know the truth, actualy i feared losing the one i love especially those who are important to me. i feared that they will be gone also like the others, especially those who died at young age.
I learn that from this, it is very important for us to actually appreciate and enjoy companion of people around us, as they might be gone anytime and we don't know when. i myself could not imagine how would it feel if i lost somebody that i dearly love, but i know some of my friends out there been through that, even some of them have share it with me. From them i learn that to face the truth the person is gone is actualy hard but the hope and legacy that he/she leave behind that make us strong again to go on with our life.
Once, my boyfriend told me, we should not grieve for the person who has been gone, instead, we should appreciate his/her life contribution to us, remember all his/her achievement as a hope for us to move on and learn from his/her life. i will always remember that.

"happy hour"

Last saturday nite, the place where i work organized an event which i'm involve as a member of the working committee, the event called "merdeka 49ers happy hour session" in conjunction with the coming national day end of this month. well nice to have an event like that to bring people together and having fun. happy hour indeed, for the participants, but not exactly for me..well it is an unpaid overtime for me to just attend and do my part to put the event together..tiring anyway.
I dont know if i ever have happy hour in this last few years..hardly remember, but definitely i have always had Joy Hours even at this very hour in my life. i guess you know what i mean, when you have God in your heart, joy is always there too.
Anyway, i believe different person has different way to have fun or to spend time just to get a good laugh or to release their tension. But i would like to promote healthy way to spend a quality time to entertain ourself or our family, maybe some of my tips below will help:

a) for family
1. choose an activity which can get your little ones involve too
2. make sure the activity are with low risk of injuries especially for your kids
3. consider daytime activity, to avoid disturbance in the kids' sleeping hours, as night time activity normally tend to end at late night.
4. pick a bright and peaceful environment, which is actually good for children
5. always consider activity which actually bring the family closer while educating the little ones, so that the time that you spend together is beneficial to your family.

b) For individual / couples / groups
1. Try to pick activity which you will really enjoy without or with minimal tendency to get hurt/regret/sick afterward.
2. vary your activity, so that you could try different/new thing rather than to stick to only one activity each week (as you might get bored doing the same thing everytime)
3. save a value of yourself so that you won't involve in something stupid which will ruin your life.
4. There's no limit to have fun but be rational while having it.
5. spend your time as you want by spending your money wisely for it.

that's all for today, hope you have a good life ahead and having fun in a healthy way ;)

Lifestyle....Did u get it right?

Huh..Lifestyle...This one actually bring a big question mark in my head, wat's so significant bout lifestyle towards one's life? Do I need to make my life stylish enough so that I live my life in style? ahaks.. confused
but the fact is, yes your lifestyle gonna affect your life (bet u got confuse with my sentence) what I mean is, the way you live your life create your lifestyle. You are a designer of your own life. well that's sound like the power is in your hand, and it's up to you to design your lifestyle.
actually, your lifestyle can be good or bad depends to all other human being around you to judge it. sometime, you think that your lifestyle is so good until you don't want it to be change, and sometime you are dying to change your lifestyle. in our daily life, we hardly notice that some (*not all) of the things or way we lead our life are actually bad habits or slowly destroying ourselves because we are so used to it.

my tips to know how good is your lifestyle and improving it:
1) list down your daily/ routine activities even every small details on a paper
2) test it, whether it is destroying or improving your life (tick to improving and cross for destroying, be honest please..)
3) now, stick it on your mirror or your notice board or your fridge
4) reduce doing the one you cross (u can also replace it with new good one), and work on the one you tick
5) lastly, make sure you are happy and healthy

alright frens, hope you have a healthy life, and if you don't, there is always a room for improvement..hehehhehe sounds like Tim Allen
all the best and have a nice day ;)

Nabbed

my day start very early today, i woke up at 3.15am at first for a glass of water, this hazy weather really getting into me..(today's report API reach 110-still unhealthy) after that, i climb back to bed, try to get more sleep...but my journey into deep sleep was somehow interrupted by sounds...
i heard thuds from next house, at first i thought it's only my left side neighbour going to work driving his trailer which is huge, regularly make lot of noise. but the thuds become louder and goes on until it sound weird. then i check out my clock, it's still early 4.50am..then i realize the sound came from my rightside neighbour house.
i got up and peek thru my window, at first hard to see anything but blurry lights outside my neighbour house, i grab my spec, and now i can clearly saw a police car parked outside my neighbour house. few minutes later, few police vehicle swarm in the area outside my house. then i saw few cops went out from the house, later i saw my neighbour being handcuffed and lead by a cop to one of their car.
now positive that my neighbour being nabbed in this police ambush, but it left me with a lot of question in my mind, especially, what has he been involve in until it take more than 10 cops armed with big guns to take him down. then back to reality...OMG!! i've living next door to a criminal! hahhahhahaha..feels like living in new york (i watch too much CSI:NY hehehhhe)

anyway, one thing i know since day 1 they move in next house, they do bring troubles to me, especially when they know i'm living alone, a lot of them all guys living in that house and lot more come by just to loiter there at night. they disturbed me almost everytime i went in and out of the house, stalking me from inside of their house, teasing, and lots more, which slowly stop recently when they realise the frequent present of my boyfriend at my house. adding to that list, many people suspect them to be responsible of my house break-in incident last May. for that incident, thank God i did not lost lot of thing.

well frens, be aware and alert of your surrounding, especially where you live, and don't forget to ask God for protection, coz we never know when bad thing gonna happen to us. i am thankful for the cops has nabbed the bad guy, and no matter what they did, just take them out of my neighbourhood.

have a nice day!

then, few minutes before noon, the same coleague told me another shocking news...a famous actor which host my mom's fav game show died <Actor Hani Mohsin dies>
then my reaction to that was like..."you are not jokin rite?"

Friday.....................

morning everyone, today i woke up late..but i manage to get ready as fast as i could...rev up my engine...guess my car is crying heeee...so sorry buddy..but i need to be at the office on time..well my new boss practise flexi-working hours, u can know now i hate to go back late from work.
last month, he noticed tht some of the staff failed to punch in at the right time, which mean haha...they are late...almost everyday...lack of discipline and commitment towards working hours, as he phrase it in the meeting. And he gave me something to work on actually, coz its my job to clear this unwanted or unpleasant practise by my staff...uuuhhh..sound simple rite..but actually its a big challenge, plus these guys are way too mature from myself...like 20-30 years older..and been working here forever...but i believe, a leader should lead and the rest shall follow...my boss himself is a good example..he always be in as early as 7.10am and the second one to reach office after him is myself at 7.15am, then after 2 weeks a clear change in my staff's time card improving excellently, thanks to my boss who actually made my work easier by being good example and i know my enforcement and memos won't get results so fast like this one did.

Share of thought

in this early morning, I'm so grateful that I'm still alive and well in the greatness of God's love. Thank you Lord for giving me another wonderful day..Well after a long while there is something remind me the importance of holiness in our daily life. Last night, I make a long distance call to a friend I know from my previous church, we have a long chat about ministry, activities, all lot more other stuff..Then the topic lead to holiness, so many young people like myself take holiness for granted or doesn't even care bout it, actually it impact a lot of aspect in our daily life, and most important is consequences of ignoring to keep ourselves holy leads to sometime major destruction of one's life. I hope that all my fellow friends out there and myself will always keep ourselves holy in front of God. Take a while to say this prayer together with me,
" Father in heaven, forgive us Lord for our unholy acts throughout our days, help us Lord to keep ourselves holy in front of You, guide us today right at this moment to live according to your way and keep us from temptations. In your name we pray, Amen."

how ironic....

Pressure on multi-faith Malaysia (click to read the article)
sometime issue like this is an eye opening to our community, so that we can live more harmony and peacefull, in my opinion, im quite agreed with this article, the truth that happen in our social community..i'm hoping that the authorities will be more sensitive to those non muslims religious needs. i believe that all the non muslims are aware that islam is the official religion of Malaysia, but freedom to practise other religion is always part of the constitution or Perlembagaan Malaysia, all this while we are very thankfull to live in a such unique country where people from different race and religion speak the same language and share same thought, and even celebrate other's festivals such as hari raya, deepavali, chinese new year and christmas together.. i hope that this will continue and learn more to respect each other's believes and culture.

The Story Factor

Some people spend a lifetime trying to understand the Bible. Others reduce it to a few basic principles.

In Walk the Line, a film portrayal of country singer Johnny Cash, a conversation between two young brothers suggests another approach. During a reflective moment, just before a tragic accident changes their lives, the boys are lying on their beds. Jack is reading his Bible when Johnny asks, “How is it that you read and remember all those stories in there?” Jack responds, “J. R., I wanna be a preacher someday, so I’ve got to know the Bible front and back. You can’t help nobody if you don’t know the right story to tell them.”

Jack’s desire to know a story for every occasion might seem boyishly naïve. Or it might sound like one side of a current debate. A growing number of scholars and church leaders believe that the unfolding drama of the Bible is at the heart of its life-changing power. Others, however, are convinced that focusing on stories, instead of teaching doctrine, has become a trend that is watering down the authority of the Bible.

As in so many controversies, there is truth on both sides of the issue. The Bible is more than romance, mystery, and adventure. Between its covers we also find the laws of Moses, the songs of David, and the letters of Paul. Yet, even the laws, songs, and letters of the Bible have a story behind them.

The story factor of the Bible raises important issues. As the plot of the Bible unfolds, even some things as basic as the Ten Commandments are not given directly to us. The laws written in stone are part of the unfolding drama of God’s relationship with His chosen people. In a similar way, the parables of Jesus and the letters of Paul are also part of what God was doing with a group of first-century people. How then can they be God’s Word to us?
How does God speak through a story? How can any part of the Bible be for us, if all of it tells the story of God’s relationship with ancient tribes, disciples, or churches? How can we say this is God’s Word to us when we are looking over someone else’s shoulder?

Some would answer these questions by saying that the value of narrative lies in its ability to mean something different to whoever hears it. Others would say that while it’s clear that the stories of the Bible are designed to engage both our imaginations and our hearts, they are also written to help us resist our tendency to make the Scriptures say whatever we want them to say. By weaving together people, events, and ideas, the plot and subplots of the Bible provide a context for understanding the author’s intent. Every story tells us something about God and something about ourselves that we will either act on or ignore.

Consider, for instance, the story Jesus told His disciples about a wealthy man’s desire for a return on his investments. According to Jesus, the man divided some of his assets among three workers before leaving on a journey. While he was gone, two of the men invested the money entrusted to them and had a profit waiting for the owner when he returned. The third, however, hid his money “under the mattress” to protect it. The owner was not pleased. He rejected the employee’s excuse by saying, in effect, “You knew that I expect a return on my investment” (Matthew 25:14-30).

In this parable, the employer didn’t tell his workers how to put his money to work for him in his absence. What is clear, however, is that they all knew him well enough to make their own choices as to what they should do while waiting for his return.
What about us? Does the most-published book in the world tell us enough about God and ourselves to enable us to serve Him as we wait for His promised return? Or are we already rehearsing our own excuses?

Imagine saying to Christ upon His return, “Lord, it’s so good to see you. I’ve been so confused. I kept waiting for You to tell me what You wanted me to do. You were so silent. All You left was a book full of someone else’s stories. They were all about people living in a different time and place. I had my own problems. I needed to know what You wanted me to do.”
Can you imagine the Lord saying, “What more did you need to know? You knew what I was like from the stories of My relationship with Adam and Eve, Abraham and Sarah, and Moses and Miriam. You heard how I responded to the prayers and wrongs of David and Solomon. By My involvement in their deeply flawed and troubled lives, you saw that I could walk with you on paths of your own choosing rather than Mine.”

Suppose the Lord continues, “You’re right. The Bible is the story about My relationship with people who lived a long time before you. Every one of those stories told you something about Me and something about yourself. That’s as much as I wanted you to know. I didn’t give you the Bible to answer all your questions. Then you wouldn’t have had to trust Me. I was more interested in telling you stories that would help you answer My questions. Once you knew what I was like and how far I would go to bring people of all nations to Me, would you want to do what you could to help? Would you be thankful for what I had done for you? Would you care that I love you? Would you trust Me to guide and enable you?”

Father in heaven, forgive us for hiding behind what You have not told us. Help us to be like young Jack, who wanted to know from front to back Your book—the stories that tell us what we need to know about You and about ourselves—for the sake of those for whom Your Son died.

Dolphins, like humans, recognize names

By Deborah Zabarenko

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Bottlenose dolphins can call each other by name when they whistle, making them the only animals besides humans known to recognize such identity information, scientists reported on Monday.
Scientists have long known that dolphins' whistling calls include repeated information thought to be their names, but a new study indicates dolphins recognize these names even when voice cues are removed from the sound.
For example, a dolphin might be expected to recognize its name if called by its mother, but the new study found most dolphins recognized names -- their signature whistles -- even when emitted without inflection or other vocal cues.
More than that, two dolphins may refer to a third by the third animal's name, said Laela Sayigh, one of three authors of a paper published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
"They are known to produce these individually distinctive signature whistles, like names," Sayigh said in a telephone interview. She said the researchers wanted to know what information in the whistles helped dolphins identify each other's names.
The scientists already knew that dolphins responded to whistles, but wondered if something in the actual voice of the whistling dolphin was making the identity clear, or if the name itself was enough for recognition.
To find out, they studied bottlenose dolphins in Sarasota Bay, Florida. Instead of playing recordings of actual dolphins making signature whistles, the researchers synthesized signature whistles with the caller's voice features removed and played them to dolphins through an underwater speaker.
In nine out of 14 cases, the dolphin would turn more often toward the speaker if it heard a whistle that sounded like a close relative's.
"It's a very interesting finding that encourages further research, because they are using whistles as referential signals -- that's what words are," said Sayigh, of the University of North Carolina Wilmington. "Dolphins appear to be using these arbitrary signals to identify another dolphin."
She stopped short of saying dolphins might have a human-like language.
"I tend to shy away from using the word 'language' myself, because it's such a loaded term," Sayigh said. "I still really feel strongly that there is no evidence for something like our language. (Dolphins) have got the cognitive skills at least to have referential signals."
